Cleonne & Yasteel’s Three-Event Wedding in Colombo
In this life and the next.
Some couples arrive with a Pinterest board. Cleonne arrived with a vision.
When we first met the couple and their families online for a consultation.. She already knew how she wanted each celebration to feel: a modern mandap ceremony, a traditional church wedding and a grand reception, each with its own atmosphere, color palette and sense of occasion.
Three events. Three distinct worlds. One unforgettable love story.
We had the greatest pleasure bringing this celebration to life.
A Sunset Mandap Wedding at Waters Edge
June 24th | Fiftykay Orchids at Waters edge
The wedding celebrations began at sunset at Waters Edge, where a contemporary mandap brought together modern design and traditional meaning.
Crisp white drapes framed the structure, while florals created the drama. Lilies and other flowers in burnt orange, rust, red and warm gold were layered across the mandap and the arch behind it, creating the impression of a garden glowing beneath the golden-hour sun.
Low seating in earthy tones and flowers gathered around the base kept the setting grounded, lush and connected to the surrounding greenery. Every detail felt intentional without competing with the landscape.
Cleonne wore a rich maroon lehenga, intricately embroidered with gold, complemented by stacks of red bangles. Beside her, Yasteel wore traditional ivory with deep maroon accents.
As the light softened, the couple sat beneath the white drapes, surrounded by warm florals and the last glow of the day. The ceremony unfolded against a sky that seemed to mirror the palette of the wedding: fiery, romantic and entirely of its moment.

Dinner in the Orchid Room
After the mandap ceremony, guests moved into the Orchid Room for dinner.
A long dining table ran through the centre of the space, dressed with candles and low floral arrangements in the same burnt orange, rust and gold tones used at the ceremony. This continuity allowed the evening to move naturally from the garden-inspired mandap into an intimate indoor setting.
Warm lighting reflected against the dark, glossy glass walls, creating a room that felt both sophisticated and welcoming. It was elegant without being formal, and celebratory without losing its sense of intimacy.

A Calla Lily Church Wedding at St. Mary’s, Dehiwala
27th June | St. Mary’s Church, Dehiwala
Three days later, the mood changed completely.
For her church wedding, Cleonne had one request: calla lilies, and plenty of them.
The result was serene, dramatic and timeless. Tall arrangements of calla lilies welcomed guests at the entrance, while white blooms climbed the columns inside the church. Each pew was finished with lilies and soft white ribbon bows, transforming the aisle into a quiet passage of white.
Even the chairs reserved for Cleonne and Yasteel were adorned with calla lilies.
Against the church’s warm arched windows, stained glass and candlelit glow, the all-white floral design created a striking contrast to the rich colours of the mandap ceremony. The effect was refined and deeply personal, allowing the architecture of St. Mary’s to remain part of the visual story.
Then came the moment everyone remembers.
As Cleonne walked down the aisle on her father’s arm, Yasteel was visibly moved. Completely mesmerised, he watched her approach and the emotion travelled through the entire church.

The Grand Reception at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams
27th June | Cumulus at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, Colombo
For the final celebration, the couple chose one of Colombo’s most striking venues: Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.
The reception was glamorous, moody and romantic. Long candlelit tables stretched beneath the venue’s soaring glass-and-steel ceiling, while lush arrangements of white, pink, maroon and green blooms brought color and movement to the room.
Trailing greenery, taper candles, pearl-toned linens and delicate place settings created a softly illuminated, editorial atmosphere. Under the golden light, the reception felt both grand and deeply personal, a celebration designed for the scale of the venue, but anchored in the couple’s story.

An Iconic Meringue Tower
Rather than choosing a traditional wedding cake, Cleonne and Yasteel selected a towering meringue creation.
Dramatic, unexpected and unmistakably them, it became one of the most photographed details of the evening. The couple stood beside it in the soft candlelight, creating a cake cutting moment that felt as distinctive as the reception itself.

“In This Life and the Next”
The couple’s wedding phrase, “In this life and the next,” appeared throughout the celebration.
Cleonne wore the words in her veil, while at the reception the phrase was projected in elegant script onto the draped wall behind the head table. It was a subtle detail, but one with tremendous meaning, a visual expression of the devotion at the heart of the day.

The Second Look
Later in the evening, Cleonne changed into an unforgettable second look.
The atmosphere shifted once again. The formalities gave way to movement, music and celebration as the dance floor took over. With the couple surrounded by family and friends, the reception became everything a wedding finale should be: joyful, energetic and completely alive.

A Wedding Designed Around One Couple’s Vision
Cleonne knew exactly what she wanted, and one of the greatest joys of planning this wedding was watching that vision become real.
From fiery marigold and rust beneath the sunset at Waters Edge, to pure white calla lilies at St. Mary’s Church, to the candlelit glamour of Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, each event had its own identity while remaining part of one beautifully connected celebration.
Three events. Three moods. One couple at the centre of it all.
It was an honour to help bring Cleonne and Yasteel’s wedding vision to life; in this life and the next.
